Embellished Mini Writing Tablets

Hi, crafty friends!

It's Week 2 of homeschooling due to the Coronavirus and we just received notice that school will be closed until May 1st. I must say, it is not easy being the temporary teacher to my little third grader. I appreciate teachers even more and those who home school their children. How do you guys do it? I am slowly losing my mind!!!

Last week, when my daughter asked for scratch paper for her math work, I remembered that I had some paper pads from Dollar Tree. I told her it was recess time, but really I wanted an excuse to craft.   In a few minutes, I had this beautiful, personalized,  jazzed up paper pad for her. It was such a nice break and I got to be creative and made something practical.

I used Maggie Holmes papers from the Sunny Days collection and zig-zag stitched around the cover with gold thread.

Here is the inside, lined with patterned paper.

The paper pads are from the dollar store and they measure 3 1/2 x 5 inches. Each pack comes with 5-35 sheets of paper. I only used one of the pads, so the measurements provided for this project is for one pad only (35 sheets). The cover is cardstock cut down to 3 5/8 x 5 inches. I then scored and folded it at the 3 1/2 mark and 3 5/8 mark. The lining is just a tad smaller than the cover, 3 3/8 x 4 3/4 inches to be exact. Next, I sandwiched a ribbon in between the front cover and the lining prior to stitching around the paper, so that it can be used to tie the booklet closed. Lastly, I glued the brown cardstock of the paper pad to the inside of my mini book.

I hope you like today's project share and that you are keeping your creative juices flowing whilst quarantined at home. Stay safe and let's continue to pray for each other!

Heffy Doodle and Gerda Steiner Designs Collaboration

Welcome to the Heffy Doodle and Gerda Steiner Designs Collaboration Blog Hop! Design Team members from both companies are sharing inspiration using products from both companies! For this fun collaboration, I made a slimline birthday card. To begin, I stamped, colored, and cut images from Gerda Steiner Designs - On the Table , On the Bookshelf and the new Heffy Doodle Popping By stamp set. I then cut the largest rectangle from the Heffy Doodle Stitched Slimline Trio Dies in white cardstock. For my table, I used the Ain't So Plaid Stencil and inked with Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxides. The top portion is ink blended with Tattered Rose and I splattered some black and rose gold acrylic paint for interest. I then white heat embossed the happy birthday sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock. Next, I adhered the elements down onto the card. Lastly, I adhered my panel onto a slimline card base. Merriest Christmas Wishes - Pretty Pink Posh

Hello friends. I'm here to show you a super easy Christmas shaker card made possible by the new Pretty Pink Posh Tree Cover Plate . I get really excited when I can whip up a card in just a few minutes. Let's get started! First, I cut the Tree Cover Plate from light pink cardstock and glued a sheet of clear acetate on the back. I added foam tape all around the edges and in the spaces between the trees. Then, I sprinkled in some Christmas Cookie Shaker Beads . After that, I peeled off the backing of the foam tape and glued on a patterned paper that's A2-sized. For the words, I used white heat embossed with a saying from the Sentiment Strips: Christmas Stamp Set on red cardstock. Then, I cut it out with a die from the Sentiment Strip Dies and gave it some extra pop by mounting it with foam. To make things extra special, I added Metallic Gold Pearls here and there for a touch of sparkle. I'm just thrilled with how quickly this card came together. I hope it gets your cre...

3D Paper Christmas Trees - Pretty Pink Posh

Hello and welcome to the Pretty Pink Posh October Release Blog Hop!!! Hello crafty friends! I have made the cutest 3D paper Christmas trees using the Pine Trees dies and I'm very excited to share some tips and tricks for making these trees. The Pine Trees include 3 different sizes and I was able to cut 4 of each from an 8.5" x 11" cardstock. The work is tedious, but the end result makes it all worthwhile. Just enjoy the process ;) Once all the pieces are cut, simply score in half and glue one side to the other. The more trees you add, the fluffier it gets. Here is my first tip: use a binder clip to keep the trees in place while the glue dries. I used 10 trees each for these pink ones: I cut some snowflakes from the Winter Mug dies and used them as tree toppers. How about some pretty, pink, posh ghosts? (You like what I did there? Hehe) The ghost die cut is also included in the Winter Mug dies. You can add a little bit of glue or just tuck it in-between the pages of the ...
